Sedgefield On SeaArts and Crafts…..Painting and images crafted on hand made Elephant and Rhino dung paper. Visitors welcome at the workshop to see the paper making process.A wide range of locally produced goods are available every Saturday morning at Sedgefield market from our own Farmers and Crafters. Fishing Galore….Surf Fishing, Bridge fishing, freshwater bass and carp fishing at Groenvlei. Grunter, Steenbras, Stumpnose and Kabelijou, in the Swartbvlei. Musselcracker, rockcod, Blacktail and Galjoen when surf fishing. Bird Watching…..very popular activity in the area with so many birds to see and enjoy, too many to mention! Walks and Hikes….Look out for animal life, birds, dunes, fynbos and lake scenery. Visit the remains of an old gold mining village, a museum, picnic sites, fynbos, forest and plantation. Jubilee Creek…..Very beautiful indigenous forest, wonderful swimming holes, valley with stream at Jubilee Creek. Beach Walks….Between Kleinkrans and Gerickes. From Swartvlei Beach to Gerickes and back. From Cola beach to Platbank From Myoli easterly towards Cola Beach and further, great for taking the family pet along. Just make sure your dogs are on a leash. Our beaches are mostly unspoilt and lovely to enjoy. Relax in the fresh sea air. Trails……Cloud 9. Magnificent scenery, lagoon, coastal bush, plantations and views to the town. Goukamma Trail. Lovely picnic spots, braai places. Look out for coastal bush, Milkwood forest and vegetated sand dunes. Stunning views. Wilderness Kingfisher Trails…..There are five to choose from, all varying in diffuculty from 5km to 10km. Maps are available locally. Some of the walks can be walked hjalf way and canoed back with a local adventure company . Some of the top golf courses. And Knysna (see above) is only 20Km east of Sedgefield. |
